Community College Professor I have always had a great attraction for the outdoors and a deep respect for the Earth so I became interested in geology at a young age. I earned my Ph.D. in Granite Petrology in 1987 and started teaching at the community college level in 1993 and at WNC in 1995. |

As a teacher of Earth Sciences, my main objective is to increase student's appreciation for the Earth and its natural processes. Every semester is a new adventure and I always look forward to including new methods that motivate students to get involved and active in their learning experience.
