The Fall
2010 required “Macroeconomics” support material is Thinkwell's
"Macroeconomics with Steven Tomlinson”. This material consists of a package
with: 1) the
course website access code for registration, and 2) general information about available online
services. This course now uses new online streaming video and audio which is provided
directly from the course website. The price of the materials is over $100. These materials come as a single wrapped
package, which includes an unused website access code, and should be
purchased at the WNC bookstore. Once the package has been opened,
it may not be returned.

Also, you can obtain the
Macroeconomics online registration package directly from Thinkwell

If you have already
enrolled with the college for this course, then you still must sign-on to the “Macroeconomics ECON 103, Fall 2010, section W01” course web
site, which is maintained by the Thinkwell Company. You will be able to do this on/after August
30th, 2010. All you have to do is go to my web page, at
the WNC web site, and link to the Thinkwell log-in
web site to sign-on. You may also go
directly to http://www.thinkwell.com/
The course consists
of several online audio/video streaming lesson modules, which you will complete
at your convenience by performing the following for each module:
1. Viewing the specific online audio/video streaming lesson
module presentation using the THINKWELL course website.
2. Studying the supporting downloadable review notes and
transcripts for that module on the THINKWELL web site.
3. Performing the graded exercise for that module on the
THINKWELL web site.
Each exercise may be submitted TWO TIMES
which means that ALL
exercises may be REPEATED ONCE for a possible improved score. The
recorded official score for any exercise for final scoring will be the BEST SCORE that was
successfully submitted online.
The
Macroeconomics course consists of 9 chapters having about 127 modules, each
with its own exercise accessible on the course web site. You must complete all
127 exercises to fully complete the course. Your grade is based upon the cumulative points earned for
all 127 exercises compared to the total possible points for the course,
expressed as one final percentage score.
This
is a cumulative point grading system.
There is one point for every question in each exercise of each website
unit tutorial in the course.
The course web site
fully outlines all the chapters, and accompanying modules, in its syllabus for
each course. Each module has downloadable printable notes and transcripts on
the web site to assist you.
The exercises can be
performed at your convenience on the computer with all materials available to
help you.
ALL
WORK MUST BE FINISHED AND SUBMITTED BY THE END OF THE DAY OF DECEMBER 18th, 2010,
MIDNIGHT (CENTRAL TIME) TO RECEIVE CREDIT. The course web site will be
closed to student access at that time.
