Marie Gibson - Bio

QuickBooks Certified Pro Advisor brings real-life experience to accounting software workshops and customized training.   This is Marie’s seventh year as an instructor for WNCC, having worked in the business and non-profit fields for over thirty years.  Marie's management expertise and background combined with her knowledge of QuickBooks Pro and QuickBooks Point of Sale software create a dynamic skill set for her consulting clients.  She helps you create efficient, accurate, and easy-to-use business systems, and customizes QuickBooks to meet your information and management needs.

Marie earned her Masters in Business Administration from UNR in 1994, while working in Commercial Leasing and Property Management. She gained first-hand knowledge of non-profit organizations working for the Junior League of Reno for over seven years while managing the Arlington Gardens Mall.  She has since owned retail and consulting businesses and is a business seminar leader conducting business, leadership and managerial workshops.

She has served as a Board Member and worked as the Rural Nevada Community Development Officer for Nevada Microenterprise Initiative, a non-profit dedicated to helping people start and expand small businesses.  She is an advanced certified QuickBooks Pro advisor, has recently been selected for Intuit's Accountant's Speaker Bureau     and has conducted workshops throughout Nevada for Nevada’s Small Business Development Centers.  Additionally, she is a WNCC Workforce Development workshop facilitator in the area of Human Resource Management, Customer Service, Team Building, Conflict Resolution, Employee Motivation, and her favorite, Entrepreneurship.

Marie’s strong belief in continuing education has motivated her to continue advanced graduate studies in the educational and anthropological fields at UNR.
