Psychology is the scientific study of behavior and mental processes. You will be exploring the world through the mind of a psychologist during these 9 webquests. You will be utilizing the textbook Psychology: The Pearson Custom Library for Psy 101 Western Nevada College - Janet King, MS. The customized version may be purchased at the WNC bookstores.

The objective of this series of 9 webquests is to think like a psychologist. You will be using the scientific methods of science to make observations, predictions and to explain behavior. These webquests are built upon project based instruction and web search. You will work on these webquests at your own pace. You will give constructive feedback to other students on their projects. If you have questions or need help, please send your instructor an email through webcampus. The Academic Skills Center is available to help you should you require assistance. Computers are available in the library at WNC. A podcast on how to use Webct/Webcampus may be found by clicking the podcast icon on any of the webquest pages.

Scientists have studied the human mind for a number of years. Now, as a student, you will be viewing the world through the eyes of a psychologist. Put on your thinking hat, ignite your imagination, and set sail for new adventures! You will creatively explore behavior and mental processes through this series of webquests. You will begin with Webquest 1 and then work your way through the webquests at your own pace. Please read the chapter and URL's prior to beginning your webquests.

Students will navigate through the webquests located in the radio boxes below. You will have exams built into some of the webquests. Your grade will be derived from completing these webquests. You will complete projects and critique your peers' work within Webcampus. You may earn up to 11 points per webquest. Your grade at the end of this course will be based upon how many points you have earned. 89.5-100 = A; 79.5-89.4=B; 69.5-79.4=C; 59.5-69.4=D; anything below 69.4=F. All students should gain 89.5 or more points by the end of the semester.
